Ice Cream

Picked up Rain & Ant from their mom's house after school. Got home and I fell asleep in front of the heater, Ant took a nap in his room and Rain went on the Internet, Gaia I presume.
I woke up from nap in time to watch Dan Rather on the nightly news. While the news was on, I made waffles. Kind of odd for dinner. Makes a filling meal. On the TV we watched Joan of Arcadia from last Friday. Then we watched Navy NCIS off the airwaves, one of our regulars which we really like. THEN I made icecream for our delectation and we watched The Woodwright's Shop guy make a bucket with the help of a guy named Don Peterson, or something like that. Then I packed the kids off to bed with the hope that they get something like eight hours sleep.

Out of Sorts

Been feeling a little off for a week or so. Maybe it's an infection of some sort but there hasn't been a cough or sniffles. Sore neck, headache and that's about it.
Rain and I went to St Vinnies after we got back from the North End of the County. She got some Ann Rice paperbacks and one other book. I got a couple more Luminarc glasses, a huge, novelty spatula, and another spaghetti picking-up fork thing and I guess that's all.
After thriftshopping, I made hamburgers and French fries, which took me a good long time. We watched Ask This Olde House, a bit of Celebrity Justice, and a whole Navy NCIS show, which is one of the shows all three of us like to watch. We're accustomed to it.

Mon Oncle

Rain, Ant and I watched my tape of the Jacques Tati classic tonight rather than watch the political debates, which I find to be excruciatingly painful to watch. The kids had to put up with my half-baked explication of the intended message of the movie concerning technology, chaotic and irrepressible life-force and such-like rot. They put up with it. Made popcorn and then made lime Koolaid.
Then I had Rain paste her Gaia post, which nobody can access, into her Xanga, which her g-rents can read.

Overcast, Fog

Dropped Raina at the High School and Ant at the Junior High. Showed them the MS-DOS Type Write program last night. They weren't too thrilled at all. Rain says she wants pork chops for dinner tonight.
On the way back from points north, stopped off at Office Depot and got some hanging files and whatnot. Straighten out my papers a bit possibly. Been trying to listen to WOR this morning but Realplayer ain't streaming so good.
Last night watched season premier of Joan of Arcadia again, this time with the kids. I can tell the kids tune in pretty good.

Going to try to salvage the bread machine bread.

Woke up on the couch at 4:17 this morning. Watched a Jackie Chan, Chris Rock movie that I had taped on channel 13 last night. The tape didn't start at the beginning of the movie but it was the kind of thing that you could watch any part of in any order and it wouldn't affect one's enjoyment at all.
Made oatmeal. Didn't have any milk in the house but still had the oatmeal anyway without it, at least there was brown sugar.
Rather foggy out there.
Started to make bread machine bread but neglected to put in enough water. Now I'll try hand kneading the dough and putting it back into the machine and see if that works.

Yummy Time

It was slog, slog, slog through work today. Had to watch Survivor last night on tape and stayed up too late. Got about my usual six hours of sleep and I don't think it's quite enough. Brenda not at work today. She's at Port Huron, helping her folks replant the flower bed, which is too much for them to handle anymore. Phil has been off the last couple of day because one of his associates got bursitus and had to have emergency surgery. Covington, crisp white dress shirt sans jacket, and Bob Hansen, the anarchist , trooped into the kitchen today and awarded one our cooks, Manuelita, who I called Mani for a while but she never seemed to notice, The Yummy Award. Yippeeeee! Then it was back to slog, slog, slog.
