Hey, fun day. Blew off work. Went to the mall. Lost my debit card. Had a real hard time making a phone call from a public phone. Got an EKG and some chest x-rays. Bought some ibuprophen!

Went to St Vinnies and got an ethernet card for my Macintosh in case I get it working beyond bringing up a screen that says, "Welcome to Macintosh"

IBM Keyboard
Model M Keyboard similar to the one I bought at Value Village for $4.99.
When I saw the IBM logo I thought, 'This might be cool.' Then I kind of thought--'It's just a clunky old keyboard', but now that I have used it for a day or two I have decided that it is my favoritist of all! I like everything about it. Of course, I'm a typewriter fan and it does remind me of the typewriter days.

Keyboard
Usual day-off thrift store run. Got an IBM key board for $5--looks brand new--but the manufacture date printed on the bottom is 6/28/99. It has what is called 'buckling spring' action, little steel springs under each key. Newer keyboards mostly don't use this system, which ain't the most cost efficient way to go for the manufacturer. The keystroke also takes a smidge more force that some wimpy users would not like. Very positive action, fewer accidental keystrikes.
Watched an elementary physics physics demonstration put on by J C Sprott on the internet tonight. There is a whole archive of them at his website. I saw the first one which was from 1986, there were a lot of bearded men in the audience--a decade and a half late culmination of the 60's, eh?
