Goodwll, Value Village

Despite the snow on the ground and the frigid temperatures the streets are bare and mostly dry too. I went over to Wheaton Way to a couple thrifty stores.

At Goodwill I got a chrome DeLonghi toaster. I already have two toasters but the one I have been using gets the bread stuck in it half the time and this DeLonghi looks like it will work better. I also got an external CD read write drive but the problem with it is that it doesn't have a power cord. It needs a kind of three pin power adapter that provides 5 volts and 12 volts. So I need one of those before I can even find out if the bloomin' thing works or not. I also got an Almond Joy bar. Wow. And also, also I got two VHS movies: 1900 by Bernardo Bertolucci and Mumford directed by 'I don't know who'.

At Value Village I didn't find anything I wanted to get. Then I went next door to Grocery Outlet and got some probably just about out of date Doritos and ANOTHER Almond Joy candy bar.

Then I went home where I remain, waiting for the predicted snowfall that may prevent me from going to work tomorrow, if I'm lucky.

Day After Halloween

(25-1162458635bl)
After visiting Mom and Dad and seeing their huge new dark brown couch I went to the thrift stores. At Goodwill I found a couple Traven tape cartridges that I was pretty sure would fit my Colorado T1000 tape drive (they do).

I was pretty tired by the time I got home around three o'clock in the afternoon having been up since 5:30 in the morning. I had a whole bunch of Almond Joy mini-candybars which I hadn't given out on Halloween (nobody came). I set to watching the Letterman show on VHS that I had taped the previous night. I fell asleep on my couch right after I put on the tape so I don't know what happened on Letterman and I have already taped over it so it's too late to find out--but it will be rerun of course. I woke up at 5:30 PM just in time to see the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric (50?). Then I had the last pork chop and mashed potatoes that had been reheating in the oven for too long.
