Listening to Adam and Dr Drew. Saw CSI TV show tonight about a shoot-out in a convenience store. The cop that at first appeared to be guilty of shooting an innocent civilian turned out to be not totally guilty. Adam and Dr Drew are talking to a couple of Indy car racers.
Saw Mom and Dad this morning. Got caught up on family lore, heating systems and futile politics.
Was messing around with a DOS program that makes the computer printer print one character or one line at a time. The one character-at-time mode didn't work very well on the pin printer. If I had a daisy wheel printer it might be good. The one-line-at-a-time mode that works quite well, except that it takes an oddly long time between the time you press enter until it prints the line, like fifteen seconds, but it doesn't hinder the writing process for me.

Raina and I went to St Vinnies after dinner. I got a book with a recommending blurb by Studs Terkel (something about masonry work in Chicago), a thing to put silverware into after it is washed so that it can drain dry, and two pair of reading glasses of different strengths that I may be able to use. Ant just went to bed and Rain is kind of doing homework on the couch.

Just popped the Tuna Tetrazzini, p. 184 of The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook, in the oven. It's for Rain and Ant. Maybe I'll have some leftovers tomorrow.
Rain is typing on the Royall Safari II and Ant is playing Zelda on the Nintendo 64. Well the timer just rang.

I'm adding BloggerBot today! Posted by Hello

The trip back from Kingston J.H. took 38 minutes. Anty has a cold, pretty quiet.
Listened to recorded Adam and Dr Drew show for a while. Now I've got Dr Joy Browne on from WOR New York.
I have to wash more dirty dishes now that are scattered all around the house and kitchen. Then I'll be able to do some real cleaning and organizing. Well, we'll see about that.

Going to have to wake up the kids in ten minutes.
It is chilly this morning. Moonlight is reflected off the roof of the metal shed in the neighbors' yard across the alleyway.
The only good food I can have today is eight ounces of grape juice, go figure.

Made Monday night spaghetti for the kids and I. It was the new kind of spaghetti that they are selling at Costco now. It is spaghetti not spaghettini like they have been selling for years. I like the new stuff.
Raina set up a blog on Gaia tonight. I copied a link to it into notepad but I'm not sure if it works, I'll have to try later.
While we had dinner we watched a recording of Saturday's CBS Evening News with Thalia Assuras (sp?) and then we watched a recording of tonights CBS Evening News with John Roberts. The Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate was interviewed and cleared up some Repbublican misstatements.
It's comming up on ten, which should be bedtime for me. Must get up at five-thirty AM to drive kids to school.

Washed a couple dishes, paid health insurance bill, then looked at modular carpet on the web from a company called Flor. Got to make some tomato sauce and then head for Hanville Highway, pick up the kids.

I had two eggs fried in bacon grease and two pieces of toast with butter and jam and coffee and Welch's grape juice for a late breakfast this morning.
Saw on Dad's Xanga that he already went into Seattle and then returned because he thought he had an appointment for today but it's really for tomorrow.
Now I'll check the physical mail and maybe scratch the surface on cleaning house.

KitchenAid

Ordered some beaters for the KitchenAid Ultra Power hand mixer that I bought at a thrift store a while back. It's in "like new" condition but it didn't have the beaters with it. The beaters cost about $26 including shipping and the mixer cost about $5, so I'm in for about $31 total. So I guess the savings from just buy the new KitchenAid isn't fantastic, I'll froogle it and see if I've saved anything. But anyway I think it's a nice machine.
Also, at the thrift store I got a chrome, Procter-Silex toaster for about $4. Underneath it says the warrantee expired in 1968 but the thing is like new. Looking in the little trap door on the bottom there are hardly any crumbs or grime like I would expect in a thirty year-old toaster. I'm very happy with it. It must have sat on somebodies shelf unused for many, many years.
